William ‘totally sickened’ by Diana scenes in The Crown and feels ‘exploited’

The Crown: Season 6 – Official teaser trailer

Prince William will be “totally sickened” by the scenes of Princess Diana’s ghost in the new season of The Crown, according to one of his friends.

The late Princess of Wales is set to appear as a ghost to then-Prince Charles and the late Queen Elizabeth in two scenes during the sixth season of the show, which debuts the first part of its final season on November 16 and the second part on December 14.

William will reportedly not be watching it, but will be “totally sickened by it”, his friend claimed.

They added that it’s “incredibly hurtful” for the Prince of Wales to “have his mother exploited over and over again in this tawdry fashion by Netflix.”

Another friend of the late monarch commented on the scenes, telling the Daily Beast: “Thank god she will never even hear about it.”

But a Netflix source defended the Diana scenes in the show and told the Telegraph: “After her death, Diana appears as part of an inner dialogue in separate scenes with Prince Charles and the Queen who are both reflecting on their relationship with the late Princess.

“These sensitive and thoughtful imagined conversations seek to bring to life the depth of emotion that was felt after such a seismic tragedy struck at the heart of the family.”

Meanwhile, Prince William’s friend claimed the royal is “angry” with his brother Prince Harry, over his decision to work with Netflix, which has “ruthlessly exploited the family.”
