The Prince of Wales sent royal fans into a frenzy after his official Twitter account, @KensingtonRoyal, released a new video related to the Earthshot Prize. The brief clip featured Prince William walking in a garden while using his mobile phone. 

The video then shows what the royal is doing with his phone – adding to a text messaging chat group the newly-announced 15 finalists of the upcoming Earthshot Prize 2022. 

The Prince of Wales then shares in the fictitious chat a video of himself congratulating the nominees on having their projects chosen among thousands of other submissions. 

Stirring the excitement of royal fans, William said in the clip: “Hello Earthshot Finalists for 2022. Great to have you on board, you are doing fantastic work and I’m really looking forward to Boston.” 

The mention of the upcoming royal trip to the US and the quirky way to share the name of the finalists delighted many fans of the Prince. 

Taking to Twitter, Sarah Delore (@sarah_delore) said: “Very clever and cute! So looking forward to Earthshot in Boston”.

Speaking about the video and the upcoming trip, social media user mrc (@brigantia__) wrote: “Oh I love this! And I’m SO EXCITED!”

Similarly, Kath Pandell (@kathrinepandell) said: “What a fun way to announce them! Looking forward to seeing them all presented at the Award Show!”

And NormallyMon (@Herontus) added: “Love it! To give all these innovators the global platform so rightly deserved. You and they are a beacon of light for our world, our children. Thank you so much”
