The late sovereign died of “old age” according to the document. It also revealed her time of death was 3:10pm, with her two grandsons, Harry and William, arriving hours after she passed.
Members of the public were informed of the monarch’s death at 6:30pm, just a few hours later.
Buckingham Palace issued a brief statement at the time, which said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
“The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The Registrar General for Scotland, Paul Lowe, confirmed that the Queen’s death was registered in Aberdeenshire on September 16.
Her daughter Anne, Princess Royal, registered her mother’s death.
The document confirms that some of the Queen’s family members were still travelling to her Scottish residence at the time of her death.
Both Prince Harry and Prince William were not present at the time of their beloved grandmother’s death.
