The Duchess of Sussex will feature as a guest on the Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres this Thursday. The episode will air a little more than eight months after an explosive discussion between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and the seasoned US interviewer Oprah Winfrey hit our screens.

Commentators have already begun asking which show Meghan will appear on in another eight months time.

Richard Eden, Royal Editor at the Mail, joked on Twitter: “We’ve had the Oprah interview, and the Ellen DeGeneres chat. Who’s next for Meghan?”

He added: “Piers Morgan I hope.”

Less than a minute later, Morgan responded: “I’m available…”

In May this year, Morgan stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain, which he hosted at the time, amid criticism from co-presenter Alex Beresford over Morgan’s views on the Meghan Markle interview with Oprah.

On the show, Morgan had said: “I don’t believe a word [Meghan Markle] says.

“I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report.”

Meghan herself is reported to have filed a complaint to media regulator Ofcom and ITV, but Morgan was cleared.

Following this saga, it is – to put it lightly – unlikely that Meghan will agree to appear in the same room as Morgan, never mind to be interviewed by him.

Thankfully, there are other options at our disposal.

Michael Herd responded to Mr Eden’s Twitter post suggesting that “[GB News’s] Dan Wooton would be good – in fact, any really ‘good’ interviewer”.

A preview of Meghan’s interview on the Ellen Show shows the Duchess chatting casually about her life before she met Prince Harry.

She joked that her journey to the interview had been very different to previous journeys to the same building when she had arrived to audition for parts.

“I would park on gate three and I would scoot on over and the security guards here would always say ‘break a leg, I hope you get it’.

“So driving today was very different.”

But key members of the Royal Family are bound to be worried that something incendiary will be said in the interview.
