The cast for the popular TV has not yet been announced but that didn’t stop Royal commentators from speculating on the matter. Journalists Afua Hagan, Valentine Low and Matt Wilkinson spoke to Sarah Hewson about what it would mean for the Royal Family if Mr Tindall a former rugby player, made it to the camp. Ms Hewson imagined what would happen if Mr Tindall won, and was crowned King of the jungle. Whilst Ms Hagan discussed what tea he may spill on the show.

Ms Hagan told Talk TV: “I mean if you’re on I’m A Celebrity, part of it is just you talking about your life and making friends in the camp.

“You know, what tea is he going to spill on that show? Do you think he has much to say or not?”

“I’m surprised actually that he’s on it, I’m surprised that the Royal Family have allowed it, I think it’s going to be really, really interesting.

“But I wonder if there is anybody in the Royal Family who is now sitting at home and thinking, oh dear.”

Ms Hewson added: “Just imagine if he wins it, and he’s crowned King of the jungle.”

Mr Wilkinson said; “What would we call him, King Mike?”

Mr Low added: “Everyone talks about Mike Tindall as if he’s Royal, he’s just a rugby player who married up.”

Ms Hewson said: “And of course, Zara doesn’t have a title, so they’re free to do this kind of thing.”

Mr Low added: “They’re just working people, I mean they’ve got a job and he has a podcast in which he occasionally lets slip a few things.

“But he’s very clever, he never lets slip anything outrageously indiscreet.”

Ms Hewson said: “Just gives enough.”

Mr Low added: “Yeah, so I think he will be fine.”

The former rugby star has three children with the late Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall and has been podcasting along with raising money for various charities in the UK.

Many other Royal commentators have been discussing how he could be the first Royal on the reality TV show.

The winners of the popular show do not receive a cash prize and the end of their time in the jungle, but the title of Queen or King of the jungle.

The Mail’s Palace Confidential, royal commentator Richard Eden said Mr Tindall would have probably declined the offer if the Queen was still alive.

Mr Eden said: “I have to be honest, I don’t think he would have done it if the Queen was still alive.

“I’m sure he’s been asked many times to be on this programme or other similar ones and would have said no.

“He does a regular podcast, it’s about rugby, but we often have snippets about his personal life and they always make interesting stories.

“When you’re in there all the time and chatting away, there will be stories to come out of it.”
