Wetherspoons worker tests positive for coronavirus
A Wetherspoons has gone into isolation after it was confirmed that they have coronavirus.
The worker had been in contact with a confirmed case outside of work and followed guidance to shield themselves for 14 days.
As a result of the positive result their colleagues at the William Adams pub in Great Yarmouth underwent assessments.
Eddie Gershon, spokesman for Wehtherspoons, said: ‘The staff member will remain in isolation until it is safe for them to be removed from this. All staff working at present do not carry any symptoms and have passed the health assessment prior to starting each shift.’
It is not known when the infected worker was last on duty.

This comes as the government’s Eat Out To Help Out intervention begins. Throughout August, all Wetherspoon pubs will be participating in the scheme, in which the government will cover half of the cost of a meal out, with a soft drink, up to a maximum of £10 a head on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
In effect, a family of four can save up to £40 on a meal out in a participating venue. Chancellor Rishi Sunak said last month: ‘Meals eaten at any participating business will be 50% off up to a maximum discount of £10 per head for everyone, including children. We can all eat out to help out.’
The east Norfolk area has a low rate of infection with not one case admitted to the wards at Gorleston’s James Paget University Hospital since July 10.
However, a Wetherspoons in Carlisle and a KFC branch in Glastonbury were recently forced to close due to staff members coming down with the virus.
