We went to the London Underground to see how hot everyone was

In case you hadn’t realised, it’s been a sweltering day.

The UK experienced its second hottest day on record and the hottest July day of all time, with 38.1°C recorded in Cambridge this afternoon.

But it can be even hotter down in the depths of the London Underground.

Metro.co.uk sent a photographer down to the Central Line to take snaps of sweaty, grumpy and tired commuters.

The line is one of the oldest and hottest of the transport network along with the Bakerloo line.
