Wayne Couzens profile suggests he 'could have killed one or two sex workers'

A criminologist believes ‘bullying’ Wayne Couzens’ behaviour profile suggests he could have killed sex workers before his murder of Sarah Everard.

The 48-year-old was a serving Metropolitan Police officer when he kidnapped, raped and strangled her to death in March.

He was known by colleagues to enjoy violent porn and was in contact with an escort on the dating website match.com.

Criminologist Dr David Holmes told MailOnline: ‘It is possible he has killed one or two sex workers that may not have been noticed.

‘These women are picked because often nobody notices they are missing for a while, or at all.

‘This is why they are targeted – they are easily found and approached and also they are accepting of people, especially those that others would be suspicious of.’

He suggested a public appeal could be issued to encourage anyone with knowledge of any possible further crimes by Couzens to come forward.

The married dad-of-two is already under investigation by the Met to see if he’s responsible for other offences.

It is claimed Couzens flashed a drive-thru McDonald’s worker three days before Sarah murder and officers were shown CCTV footage of the incident.

A quick check of his car number plate details on the DVLA website revealed his name and address in Deal, Kent.

But in a major blunder, investigators failed to complete the jigsaw and identify him as a police officer.

Yesterday the Old Bailey – where he was told he will die behind bars – heard that as far back as 2002 Couzens had been ‘attracted to brutal sexual pornography’.

He was nicknamed The Rapist by women colleagues in the force because he made them feel uncomfortable.
