Warner Bros worker stabbed in neck during filming for Ann Hathaway movie

A construction worker stabbed a colleague in the neck on the set of Ann Hathaway’s latest movie, police have said.

The man was arrested after the attack, which took place at the Warner Bros’ studios, in Leavesden, near Watford, on June 19.

Ms Hathaway has been filming the new version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches at the Herfordshire studios.

A spokesperson for Warner Brothers called the stabbing an ‘isolated workplace incident’ and confirmed that police are now handling the matter.

The man has since been released on bail until July 17.

A witness at the scene told The Sun that they heard an argument and ‘shouting’ shortly before the incident.

He claimed the victim, who is thought to be part of the film crew, was stabbed with a ‘flip knife’ from the construction worker’s tool belt.

A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at around 12.35pm to reports of an incident at Warner Brothers Studios in Leavesden.

‘One man sustained a neck injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance. A second man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

‘It is believed the men are known to each other. Enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around what happened.’

The Leavesden studios have played home to world-famous movie franchises such Star Wars, James Bond, Sherlock Holmes and Harry Potter.

In recent years, it has become famous for its Harry Potter Studio Tour, in which visitors can walk among props, costumes and sets used in the films.
