Walthamstow murder: Teenager arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing student Hussain Chaudhry
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a student who was fatally stabbed in London on Wednesday.
The suspect was arrested yesterday and is in custody at an east London police station, the Metropolitan Police said.
Hussain Chaudhry, a first-year law student, died following the attack in Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow, at about 5.20pm.
His sister has told how he died “cradled in his mother’s arms”.
The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination showed the cause of death was a hypovolemic shock and a stab wound to the neck.
Hussain’s family, said: “We are deeply grieved by the loss of our beloved Hussain and respectfully ask for the privacy and space to come to terms with this tragic situation. We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their kindness, compassion, condolences, prayers and goodwill. We have no other comment at this time.”
