Virginia Giuffre fearing for life as ‘evil people trying to silence her’

The 35-year-old, who says she was ordered to have sex with the Duke of York when she was just 17, added on Twitter: “If something happens to me, don’t let it go.” Virginia, now a mother of three who uses her married name Giuffre, was responding to a tweet suggesting: “FBI will kill her to protect the ultra-rich and well connected.” She replied: “I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal. I have made this known to my therapist and doctor.

“If something happens to me – for the sake of my family do not let this go away and help me to protect them. Too many evil people want to see me quieted.”

Ms Giuffre claimed in a BBC Panorama interview this month that she was trafficked for sex with Prince Andrew, now 59, by his paedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein in 2001.

She has admitted she has been in therapy to deal with her abuse for at least the last 10 years.

In court papers, she has spoken about how she began writing a book about her ordeal on the advice of her mental health counsellor as a way to work through her trauma.

But she says she “intentionally destroyed” a journal and a “dream journal” she had kept of her memories in 2013. In legal papers she says she followed the advice of a therapist, and “burned the journal as a form of cathartic release”.

In the same submissions she also spoke about her fear at the time of US tycoon Epstein and the friends she claims the financier lent her out to.

She said: “Epstein also trafficked me for sexual purposes to many other powerful men, including politicians and powerful business executives. Epstein required me to describe the sexual events that I had with these men, presumably so that he could potentially blackmail them. I am still very fearful of these men today.”

Ms Giuffre added: “I also hope that this information is treated in a way that will keep me safe from Epstein and other criminals identified here so as to encourage more victims of similar crimes to come forward.”

During her Panorama interview, Ms Giuffre said she was sexually abused as a seven-year-old child and had run away from home.

Epstein, 66, was found dead in his cell in a New York jail in August as he awaited trial for further sexual offences.

He had already served prison time for procuring a minor for prostitution but was seen in 2010 soon after his release walking with Andrew in Central Park, New York.

The duke vehemently denies Ms Giuffre’s claims about him having sex with her and says he has absolutely “no recollection” of their ever even meeting, despite a photo which shows them together.

Epstein’s death was officially listed as suicide but Dr Michael Baden, New York City’s former chief medical examiner, says he believes it is likely he was strangled.
