VIDEO: Miserable Jeremy Corbyn caught scowling during Queen’s speech
Jeremy Corbyn did not appear impressed as he was forced to listen to the Queen set out the Government’s legislative agenda after Labour’s humiliating defeat in last week’s general election. Mr Corbyn’s party suffered its worst trouncing in almost a hundred years, as it was their most abysmal loss since 1935, sparking calls for the Labour leader to stand down. But the defiant Islington North MP has refused to step aside immediately.
As Her Majesty read out Boris Johnson’s priorities, Mr Corbyn looked glum-faced as he frowned at what she was saying.
Video of the event showed Mr Corbyn appear visibly uncomfortable with his face contorted into a grimace.
Listing Mr Johnson’s priorities, the Queen said: “My Government will embark on an ambitious programme of domestic reform which delivers on the people’s priorities.
“For the first time, the NHS’ multi-year funding settlement will be enshrined in law.”
But despite what has been hailed as the “most radical Queen’s Speech in a generation” with measures to toughen up criminal justice, invest in the NHS and deliver on the “people’s priorities”, Mr Corbyn was less than impressed.
