Photos posted online show officials and passengers gathered on a platform in front of the buffers, which a train appears to have collided with. One person tweeted: “Train just crashed into buffers at Victoria Station. Loud bang … lots of smoke and dust!” Another person tweeted: “Heard huge crash at #VictoriaStation on platform 19 but couldn’t see what it was. 

“It was so loud I thought it might be a train crashing into the buffers, turns out I was right!”
