UK coronavirus economy BLOODBATH: Pandemic to cause massive shifts in UK industries
Times Money Mentor executive editor Gemma Godfrey warned the leisure and retail industry would be hit hard by the coronavirus. While on TalkRadio with Mike Graham, she said both these industries will see many job losses and the leisure industry could expect sales to fall by as much as 85 percent. Despite this, she said there would be opportunities for new roles in other industries like the health care sector.
Ms Godfrey said: “Ultimately, whether lockdown gets lifted gently or smoothly, the economy is going to look different afterwards.
“It is going to be a bloodbath.
“What is interesting is it is going to be different for different sectors.
“I think we should all be aware of the ones that are more protected and the ones that are going to be impacted more.”
