Two men fighting for lives after scaffolding collapses at building site
Two men are fighting for their lives in hospital after scaffolding attached to a west London town hall collapsed this afternoon.
Dozens of ambulances, fire engines and police cars descended on the scene in Hammersmith after the incident at 5.30pm.
Two men who suffered potentially life threatening injuries were then rushed to a major trauma centre by air ambulance ‘as a priority’.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the force has now launched an investigation.
Hammersmith and Fulham council said the incident was at a construction site ran by Ardmore Construction Ltd.
They were working on Hammersmith Town Hall’s new Civic Campus on Kings Street.
The new site is set to include new homes, a cinema and a council building, MyLondon reports.
