Trump state banquet: What’s on the menu?
A state banquet is one of the most magnificent events hosted by the British Royal Family, and Donald Trump will have the chance to enjoy one this evening next to the Queen. The banquet will see some 4,000 pieces of silver gilt from George IV’s Grand Service dinner set laid on 75 feet of table and lit with hundreds if candelabras. And with some of the best chefs on earth, the 170 guests will enjoy a feast like no other.
What’s on the menu?
On the menu, all translated from French, is steamed fillet of halibut to start, complemented by a watercress mousse, asparagus spears and a chervil sauce.
The main course is new season Windsor lamb with herb stuffing, spring vegetables and a port sauce.
Dessert will be Strawberry sable and lemon verbena cream, and guests will be offered a selection of assorted fresh fruits to finish up, as well as coffee and petit fours.
