Trump reveals why he got into trouble with royal officials after his talk with the Queen
Donald Trump has claimed the Queen had “never had so much fun” during his recent state visit to the UK. During an interview with Fox News’ Fox & Friends, the US leader boasted he made the Queen laugh so much that he got in trouble with royal officials. The astonishing claim followed President Trump and his wife Melania trip to the UK between June 3 and 5.
He told Fox News: “I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn’t had so much fun in 25 years.
“Now, then I got criticised for it because they said we were having too much fun.”
In the 25-year period that President Trump refers to, Queen Elizabeth II has marked a Golden and Diamond Jubilee, visited multiple continents and celebrated the weddings of her grandchildren and the birth of multiple great-grandchildren.
During the interview with the US broadcaster, President Trump heralded Her Majesty as an “incredible lady”.

He said: “I feel I know her so well and she certainly knows me very well right now, but we have a very good relationship also with the United Kingdom.”
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said Trump’s latest comments were “not something we would comment on”.
At the time of his visit, the US leader tweeted: “The Queen and the entire Royal family have been fantastic.
“The relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong. Tremendous crowds of well wishers and people that love our country.”
President Trump was joined on his trip by his adult children Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany, where they were treated to a State Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
Speaking at the banquet, he offered a toast to the Queen, telling the audience: “On behalf of all Americans I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations and to the long cherished and truly remarkable reign of her majesty, the queen.”
