They plan to gather close to the bus stop where Bobbi-Anne McLeod, 18, was last seen alive. Meanwhile, Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse in her home city of Plymouth was lit up last night with purple, the colour used to highlight violence against girls and women.

As police questioned two men over the murder, Bobbi-Anne’s brother Lee posted an emotional tribute with an old primary school photo of them together.

He wrote: “Until we meet again sis, I love you.

“You didn’t deserve this, such a beautiful and talented girl and to have you as my little sister the adventure and journey we had been on will always be treasured. Now go rest easy.”

Bobbi-Anne left her home in Leigham, Plymouth, at 6pm on Saturday to catch a bus to the city centre to meet up with some friends. But she never arrived.

Headphones and a tobacco pouch believed to belong to the teenager were found at the bus stop. It is understood police have recovered her mobile phone. The slightly built teenager was wearing a grey Nike hoodie, blue ripped jeans and white Nike trainers.

Her body was found on a beach near Plymouth on Tuesday following a search by officers on the ground and by helicopter.

A cordon has been set up at the spot near Bovisand, blocking off a road leading to a cafe, car park, and holiday park where people are still staying in caravans.

Two men from Plymouth, aged 24 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

They were being questioned by officers last night.

Meanwhile, a GOFUNDME page set up by Amanda Isaacs, a neighbour of Bobbi-Anne, to help pay for her funeral, had raised £10,600. Amanda said: “I am a close friend and neighbour of Bobbi and her family. She was a beautiful young girl, only aged 18 with her whole life ahead of her.”

She said Bobbi-Anne’s family was “going through hell” and she hoped the fundraiser would lessen some of the stress on them. Amanda also urged people who were unable to attend the vigil to light a candle at 6pm tonight as a tribute instead.

Chief Superintendent Matt Longman said: “This is weighing heavy on the people of Plymouth tonight, it really is.

“And I would just like to send my thoughts to the friends and family of Bobbi-Anne.

“That actually feels like it’s a relatively inadequate thing to say at such a time. But we are continuing to do everything we can to understand exactly what’s happened.”

A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Leaper said yesterday: “On Tuesday afternoon, officers located the body of a woman in the Bovisand area after information received by police led to inquiries being carried out in the area.

“Formal identification hasn’t been carried out but the family of 18-year-old Bobbi-Anne McLeod were informed of the development and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.”

Searches and forensic examination of a number of crime scenes will continue in the coming days, she added.

Police said inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting log 706 22/11/21.
