The Department for Transport announced that fares will go up by 3.8 per cent from March 1. This increase in England andWales was based on July’s Retail Prices Index. It will be the steepest surge since January 2013, said the Rail Delivery Group.

The Book with Confidence scheme will also be extended until March 31.
