Tragedy as girl, 15, found dead in woodland

The 15-year-old girl’s death is not being treated as suspicious by police, who were called to reports of a youngster’s safety yesterday morning. They discovered her body in woodlands near Tanygrisiau, near the Snowdonia National Park in north Wales.
“The circumstances of this tragic incident are not being treated as suspicious, and the local coroner has been informed,” Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott, of North Wales Police, said.
“I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family, and I would request that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
A road leading up to a quarry was closed throughout yesterday, reports North Wales Live.
People were told to stay away from the area.
Speaking yesterday after the grim discovery, a spokesman for North Wales Constabulary said: “We are saddened to report that earlier today, police officers discovered the body of a 15 year old girl in woodland in Tanygrisiau, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
“This followed a call received by police at 8.24am, reporting a concern for safety for a local girl.
“Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: ‘The circumstances of this tragic incident are not being treated as suspicious, and the local coroner has been informed.
“I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family, and I would request that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
