Three rules Harry and Meghan must obey to stay relevant – but they’re failing
GMB: Ice Cube talks about Meghan and Harry over ‘Compton’ remark
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must obey three key rules if they want to maintain their place in the spotlight, according to a Hollywood expert, and so far they are struggling.
The Sussexes stepped down as working royals over three years ago and moved to California, where they have attempted to carve out their own independent careers in the fields of entertainment and philanthropy.
Meghan, who was a successful actress on the TV show Suits before she met and married Harry, has been rumoured to be returning to her acting career or relaunching her blog The Tig as a lifestyle brand, similar to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.
Harry meanwhile has served as executive producer on the new documentary series Heart of Invictus, which follows the organisers and competitors of his Invictus Games as they prepare for the competition.
Recently both have been spotted out and about at some of the most talked-about events in LA, most notably Meghan attended two of Beyoncé’s concerts at the SoFi Stadium while Harry was seen at a football match between Los Angeles FC and Inter Miami.

Stephen Galloway, the dean of Chapman University’s film school, explained how these appearances are important for the couple to improve their status as bona fide celebrities.
He told The Times: “It’s important to maintain them in the public eye. And this is why movies have premieres. This is why paparazzi are around.”
The expert went on to explain the three things the couple need if they are to build their careers in Hollywood: “No. 1 you need money. There is a big question about how much they have.
“No. 2, you need mystery. Well, when you’ve written a book like Harry’s memoir Spare, there’s no mystery left.

“And three, you need some kind of news. There’s not much news with them. So in the end, you become the moth fluttering around another light.”
Upon moving to California the Sussexes signed huge contracts with the likes of Netflix and Spotify to produce original content for the platforms, however their output so far has produced mixed results.
They had great success with their revelatory series Harry & Meghan, however earlier this summer it was announced that Spotify and Archewell had parted ways after just one series of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes.
Meghan and Harry may have been rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington, and David Beckham and Will Ferrell respectively, but it remains to be seen if they can hold onto their place in the limelight.
Their newest project for Netflix is said to be an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s romance novel Meet Me By The Lake, which they have reportedly bought the rights to.
