Three people have been killed following a crash between a BMW and Mercedes.

Four more people were hospitalised after the crash, which happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday near Chichester, West Sussex.

The smash involved a white BMW 220 and a grey Mercedes C200 and happened on the A285 at Ducton.

Three people in the BMW were declared at the scene. A fourth was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Three people in the Mercedes were also taken to hospital – one suffered life-threatening wounds, one had serious injuries, and one had minor injuries.

A section of the road was closed overnight for several hours while Sussex Police investigated, but it has since reopened.

The force is appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
