Applications for a security expert overseeing vetting procedures for those working at Buckingham Palace has opened. Candidates are required to have “the ability to remain calm and level headed under pressure.”
They will also have to be able to “demonstrate good judgment”, as well as “sound decision making in a fast paced environment”.
The successful applicant will carry out the same duties at Windsor Castle, Sandringham and Balmoral.
The position is five days a week, spanning a fixed period of a year. The ad says working hours take up 37 and a half hours per week.
The job advert states: “It’s knowing that you’re helping to protect a world-famous institution.
“You’ll also carry out pre-employment checks, working collaboratively with your team to deliver an exceptional personnel security verification service.
“You’ll be responsible for your own portfolio of work, and will regularly liaise with internal colleagues and external bodies.
“Keeping all our records up-to-date will be an important part of your role too.
“As well as the day-to-day, you’ll help the wider team at events and with a range of projects.
“It’s a fast-paced environment, and you’ll make important decisions every day.”
The applicant will work alongside the vetting team for all workers.
But hopefuls will have to move fast – as the application deadline is this Sunday.
Interviews commence on August 30.
The advert continues: “As part of a dedicated team, you’ll undertake verification checks that meet the diverse needs of our organisation, creating a safe and secure environment for all.
“You’ll conduct security clearances for employees, visitors and contractors.
“The standards you aim for will be the biggest challenge, and the biggest reward.
“And every day you’ll deliver vital work that has an impact across the Royal Household.”
