Thomas Markle’s family shot themselves in foot with new Meghan attack

Meghan’s estranged father and two half-siblings have reunited together to share an “extraordinary message” and previous unseen clips of the Duchess. Royal expert Christine Ross has said that the family’s decision to do the interview “emphasises” how distant their relationship has become with Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her father since 2018 – the same year she married into the Royal Family.

Ms Ross told Express.co.uk: “Specials like these really emphasise the distance between Meghan and her family.”

The royal expert also added that, while the interview may “garner pity or frustration” for Meghan’s father, it is “not likely to win any favour for anyone else involved”.

This is in relation to Meghan’s two elder half-siblings – Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr – who are Thomas’s other children from a previous relationship.

Speaking of the promotional clips for the interview, she added: “It seems there is no way that Meghan would allow or encourage her family to go on these televised events if she had any semblance of a relationship with them.”

Samantha, who is known for her public comments on her half-sister, has given her thoughts on Meghan and Prince Harry’s relationship.

In another blow for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Samantha claimed the pair have a “toxic” romance.

She said that the pair are “really unhealthy for each other”.

In one segment of the new trailer, Meghan’s half-sister claimed that the Duchess would “still be a waitress if it wasn’t for dad.”

Thomas Markle Sr also sent a plea to his estranged daughter.

The 78-year-old, who was hospitalised last May following a stroke, admitted that he was “lucky to be alive”.

In the clips from the latest interview, Meghan’s father made a “deathbed plea” to “the daughter he lost”.

Next week, Prince Harry is flying to the UK to attend the King’s Coronation alone.

Meghan made the decision to remain in the US to look after the couple’s two children, Lilibet and Archie.

Archie will celebrate his fourth birthday on the day of the Coronation – a likely reason why Meghan wanted to stay in the US.
