Although the pair have stepped back as working royals, one expert has claimed the pair will always be associated with the institution. While the two have now settled in Los Angeles, Kehinde Andrews, a professor of Black Studies at Birmingham City University, said the pair will still be “part of the royals”. Even though the pair will no longer use their His/Her Royal Highness prefixes, Professor Andrews insisted they will still be consumed as members of the Royal Family due to Harry’s lineage.
Speaking to NBC News, Professor Andrews said: “Whether they like it or not, they still seem to represent the monarchy.
“He’s still Prince Harry. He’s still the grandson of the Queen.
“The way they’ll be consumed is very much as part of the royals.”
Last year, Harry announced their intent to step down as senior royals and work to become more financially independent.
The pair have since signed lucrative deals with Spotify, Netlfix and have released a documentary with Apple TV+.
Earlier this year, the pair confirmed their complete departure from the Royal Family although they claimed they will continue to represent the Queen.
The pair also returned all honorary and royal patronages which were handed to them and they were redistributed among other members of the Royal Family.
A spokesman for the pair said at the time: “As evidenced by their work over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the UK and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organisations they have represented regardless of official role.

“We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
Buckingham Palace also said in response: “The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of the Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.
“While all are saddened by their decision, the Duke and Duchess remain much-loved members of the family.”
Returning to the UK, Harry is expected to join his brother Prince William to unveil a statue of their mother in Kensington Palace.

While Harry will return to the UK to join his brother he will not be joined by his son Archie.
A source close to the Sussexes has claimed Meghan will remain in the US with the two children while Harry travels alone to the UK.
If true, Archie will not have been seen with other members of the Royal Family since 2019.
The source told Vanity Fair: “Meghan will stay at home with the children.
“Harry is flying alone.”
On his return, Harry will self-isolate in Frogmore Cottage in a Covid secure bubble.
He may also need to isolate between five or 10 days once he has arrived in the UK.
