Theresa May unleashes her dancing queen in final weekend as prime minister
Theresa May will officially leave office on Wednesday.
But it seems the Prime Minister is determined to enjoy herself until then after being spotted dancing the night away at Henley Festival.
Accompanied by her husband Philip, May threw some robotic shapes as she enjoyed music from Abba tribute band Bjorn Again.
The couple were filmed mouthing along to the words of Mamma Mia, Take A Chance and Dancing Queen, which the Tory leader walked out to during a Party conference.
Later the band played the song as part of the encore and gave May a shout out.
She was also seen bopping along to Van Halen’s 1983 hit Jump in the grandstand at the Oxfordshire event.
The Henley Festival is billed as an ‘exclusive boutique black tie festival’ where ‘art and gastronomy share equal billing with music’.
Tickets cost up to £135, although it is not clear whether May paid for her entry or was invited to the event as a guest.
Situated close to her Maidenhead constituency, this year’s line-up included Boy George, Tom Odell and Jessie J.
May’s appearance at the festival followed a day spent at Wimbledon, where she watched Simona Halep defeat Serena Williams in straight sets.
Today, she has headed to Lord’s to watch England take on New Zealand in the final of the men’s Cricket World Cup.
May’s dancing has made headlines several times through her time as prime minister.
Last year, she awkwardly showed off her moves during a trip to South Africa and Kenya, before dancing her way onto the stage during a Tory Party conference in Birmingham.
Boris Johnson is favourite to replace May as the next prime minister – but just this week admitted he doesn’t know his own Brexit plan.
The former foreign secretary became unstuck when questioned about further details on how the UK would trade with the EU after Brexit, in a bruising interview with the BBC’s Andrew Neil.
