The Queen’s guests were in STITCHES after hilarious conversation – ‘How did we get THERE?’

Her Majesty last month attended a special event with entertainment provided by US opera singer Dennis McNeil. According to People Magazine, he had been invited to perform at the party by US ambassador Robert Johnson. Recalling the night, Mr Johnson remembered how “human and warm” the Queen was before admitting she struck up a conversation that had everyone laughing.

He said: “She was lovely and radiant.

“She was dressed in a silver gown that shimmered.

“She is an itty bitty thing, but she does not come off as itty bitty. She has such grace and strength.

“She worked her way through the room, and we stood and chit-chatted.”

But when the pleasantries were over, the conversation took a turn.

Mr McNeil added: “At one point we were chatting about knee replacements and hip replacements.

“How we got there, I don’t know.

“I think another guest had just announced they’d gotten a hip replacement.”

The Queen was the guest of honour.

Mr McNeil was educated at the Institute for the American Musical and has won numerous awards for his singing.

Mr McNeil performed a number of tracks including ‘Oh What a Beautiful Morning’ and ‘It Had to be You’.

Some of his performances reportedly had the Queen singing along.
