The Queen smiles as she’s shown her face on stamps through the years
The Queen has today marked the 150th anniversary of the RPSL by visiting the association and launching its new headquarters. The monarch, an ardent philatelist herself, headed to the City of London to meet members of the society and view some of the most beautiful stamps.
The Queen looked in high spirits as she was being greeted by the RPSL’s members.
Wearing black gloves, the monarch shook hands with them and exchanged a few words before starting her visit.
On this occasion, the Queen wore a green and black coat, paired with a matching hat and her signature bag.
The monarch looked with curiosity at the stamps showcased and listened with interest at the meaning and history behind each of them.
The Queen, who is the patron of the society, is a fervid collector of stamps and is believed to have a collection worth £100million.
