The Queen dropped a huge hint about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry leaving two weeks ago
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their decision to quit as senior members of the Royal Family last night and now it appears the Queen gave a huge hint of the news during her annual Christmas message. The 93-year-old Monarch surrounded herself in photos of the Royal Family as she sat at a desk to deliver the Christmas message, but this year royal fans noticed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been left out of the line-up – despite them appearing last year. Instead, The Queen displayed photos of her father, King George VI, her husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as a family shot of the Cambridge’s.
At the time many suggested the photographs were simply representing the monarchial line, but now royal fans are convinced the move was a sign of things to come.
One person wrote: “The Queen TRIED to tell you about Harry and Meghan stepping back at Christmas. No photo of them during her speech.
“The clues were right there.”
Another added: “So that’s why the queen didn’t have a photo of Harry, Meghan and their son next to her in her Christmas photo.”
A third wrote: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were missing from the Queen’s 2019 Christmas speech.
“Some said it was because of only heirs were in display. Now we understand clearly why.”
The Queen delivers her annual Christmas message at 3pm and typically surrounds herself in photographs of members of the Royal Family.
Last year a picture from Meghan and Harry’s wedding day was used but her most recent speech neglected to include them – or even include a photo of baby Archie, their eight-month-old son.

Sky News’ political editor Beth Rigby commented on this, and said: “How could you not notice the lack of a framed photograph of the Sussexes on the Queen’s desk when she gave annual Christmas address.
“This the year they had their first child and no picture…”
But the Queen did congratulate the Sussex’s on the birth of their son in the actual speech.
The news of Meghan and Harry’s decision to step down as senior members of the Royal Family has come as a shock to many across the globe.

They made the announcement on their Instagram page, sussexroyal, and said: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.
“We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.”
