The moment Meghan Markle’s narrative CHANGED – ‘Prince Harry got stroppy about it’
There was a change in the media narrative surrounding Meghan Markle after the “tiara gate story”, claimed a royal correspondent. Katie Nicholl, the author of ‘Harry: Life, Loss and Love’, added that before this change, Meghan could “do no wrong as far as the press was concerned”. Speaking in ITV’s documentary ‘Harry and Meghan: A Royal Baby’, Ms Nicholl commented: “Meghan could do no wrong as far as the press was concerned. She was photogenic, she had that star appeal, but I think there was a change in the narrative.
“For me that moment was the tiara gate story. That suggestion that she had been quite difficult over what tiara she was going to wear on her wedding day.
“That Harry had got stroppy about it and allegedly told courtiers ‘what Meghan wants Meghan gets’.
“Certainly there was an unusually high turnover of staff at the Palace.”
A dispute reportedly took place before Meghan and Harry’s wedding last summer over a tiara.

The actress allegedly wanted to wear an emerald headpiece but her request was refused when the origin of the piece could not be found.
In the end, Meghan wore Queen Mary’s diamond and platinum bandeau tiara from the Queen’s private collection.
Meghan and Prince Harry recently settled into Frogmore Cottage ahead of the royal baby’s birth.
The Duchess of Sussex is due to give birth in April or early May.
But royal fans may not find out any details about the birth of the royal baby for a while, as Kensington Palace also announced this week the royal couple will be keeping the birth plans private.
A statement from the palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
The Duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland, is due to fly from LA to the UK this month ahead of the birth of her first grandchild.
Bookies Ladbrokes has some royal fans convinced the baby will come into the world this weekend.
The firm has dropped odds to 3/1 that the Duchess will give birth at some point between Friday and Monday, over Easter.
Jessica Bridge, a spokesperson for the company, said: “Royal fans would love a double celebration over the Easter weekend with Her Majesty’s birthday on Sunday, and potentially Baby Sussex arriving as well.
“Punters are still convinced the Duke and Duchess will be welcoming a little girl into the world.”
If the baby is born on Sunday, the child would share their birthday with the Queen, who is turning 93-years-old.
