The glamorous little-known royal you’ve probably never heard of

Lady Amelia Windsor attends The Fashion Awards 2022

Polls of the most glamorous Royal Family members are often released.

Of those who come out on top usually include Prince Harry in the men’s category and Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in the women’s.

Yet, according to some, there is a little-known royal who trumps them all when it comes to looks alone.

Lady Amelia Windsor, 27, has been widely described as the “most beautiful” royal.

The fashion model lives a stone’s throw away from her illustrious familial relations but has pursued a career outside of royalty.

Lady Amelia has appeared alongside the royals for certain events, like standing on the balcony for the Trooping the Colour.

But it wasn’t until 2016 that she began making a name for herself in the world of fashion and modelling.

It was then that she became covergirl for Tatler, the publication which described her as the UK’s “most beautiful royal”.

She is 42nd in line to the throne and is the granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent — the Queen’s cousin.

It means she is the Queen’s first cousin twice removed, and a third cousin of Prince William and Harry.

Educated at St Mary’s School in Ascot, Lady Amelia took a gap year before enrolling at Edinburgh University to study French and Italian.

She was quickly snapped up by the prestigious Storm Models agency which discovered the likes of Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.

Her modelling career has found great success: she has walked shows for high-end brands like Dolce and Gabbana and has been the face of make-up brand Illamasqua.

She is often spotted at the front row of global fashion shows and has even worked behind the scenes for the likes of Azzedine Alaia and Bvlgari — but she’s shown an interest in moving the fashion interest forward and focusing on sustainability.

In 2018, she told the Daily Telegraph: “We’re all aware of the huge plastic crisis and the effect it’s having on our planet. Fashion is a key role in that, but then also there are ways we can deal with it.

“Stella McCartney is someone to look up to in that sense, she makes the bigger point in her collection that you can be sustainable and stylish. That should be something that everyone looks for when they shop now”.

She lives in a flat with her older sister, Lady Marina Windsor, in Notting Hill, a home she once described as her “little sanctuary”.

Her Instagram page has garnered an impressive 103,000 followers who keep up to date with Lady Amelia’s day-to-day.

The limelight was well and truly focused on her after she reacted to her lack of invite to Meghan and Harry’s wedding, to which she was reportedly “a little surprised not to be invited as [she was] looking forward to going”.
