‘The Dutch will be finished without our fish!’ Brexiteer MEP rages at ‘desperate’ EU
Ms Mummery is the Brexit Party’s spokeswoman for fisheries and coastal issues. The Brexiteer also slammed other MEPs for forgetting what the job is and getting too comfortable. She stated that an MEP’s job is to represent the people who pay your wages.
Ms Mummery said: “They are desperate for our fish!
“I am telling you now, the Dutch will be finished if we kick them out of our waters.
“That will be curtains for them!
“People say oh dear, it’s not oh dear because I’ve watched our industries just fail and decline over the last forty years.
“I am not exaggerating, everything I have just told you I can back it up.”
She continued: “That’s where this lot have gone wrong.
“These politicians they’ve got these jobs or they’ve had MEPs over in Europe who have had a nice comfy number and I’ll tell you it is comfy.
“They have forgotten, they have forgotten what the job is.
“The job is to represent the people that pay your wages, end of.”
Earlier this month Ms Mummery lashed out at the EU for destroying UK fisheries, claiming that many British fishermen wouldn’t be able to even buy Christmas gifts this year.
Speaking at a debate at the EU’s Fisheries Committee, Ms Mummery asked when was the last time any of the EU elite had bothered to speak to any fishermen face-to-face.
The MEP challenged the Fisheries Committee members to get out and “speak to the people” for themselves to better understand the state of the fishing industry.

The question silenced the room, as the Brexit Party MEP went on to outline how British waters had been left “without any fish” because of EU rules.
Ms Mummery said: “I have been to all of the major fishing towns in the past month, and I can say there is no fish left.
“Having spoken to the fishermen, we have to say that the Common Fisheries Policy has been a total disaster for small-scale fishermen.”
This came after the European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen unveiled the EU’s new European Green deal.
According to the proposals, from 2021, at least 40 percent of the budget for the common agricultural policy and 30 percent of fisheries subsidies would be devoted to tackling climate change, which could be a huge blow to the European fishing industries.
