‘The Conservative Party is FINISHED’ – Brexit protestor HITS OUT at Theresa May

Thousands of Brexiteers gathered at a protest organised by Leave Means Leave on Friday. Britain had been due to depart the EU on that date, March 29. However Mrs May agreed on a Brexit extension with Brussels in a bid to get her exit deal through Parliament.

Speaking to Express.co.uk the union flag bearing protestor, who didn’t give his name, commented: “I’m very angry today.

“We live in a democracy, a Parliamentary democracy.

“Parliament represents the people and they betrayed us and I’m not happy about that at all.

“I also personally think the Conservative Party are finished.

“They will be voted out of power at the next local elections as a kick in the nuts first, and then we’ll do it in the general election.”

Last month the Government and EU agreed to postpone Brexit until April 12, with a further extension possible if Parliament continues to reject its deal.

The House of Commons has already voted against the EU exit agreement negotiated by the Prime Minister three times.

Yesterday Mrs May called for talks with the opposition Labour Party, in a move which could lead to a softer Brexit.

The protestor was clear in his determination to continue fighting for what he regards as a true EU exit.

He said: “This is the first political march I’ve ever been on and if it happens again I will do it again.

“I think at the moment there’s probably about 12 pro-Brexit parties, very small ones, and what they have to do is talk to each other and only put one candidate up in each ward.”

The Leave Means Leave rally was addressed by a range of politicians, including former UKIP leader Nigel Farage and Ian Paisley Jr from the Northern Irish DUP.

Mrs May is expected to meet Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn for Brexit talks later today.
