A staggering video of drivers queuing for petrol around an Asda garage in Wigmore, Luton, shows cars lined up for miles after other nearby petrol stations were forced to close after they ran out of fuel.
The drone footage was shot by Luton local Lester Jay and has been viewed more than 18,000 times since it was posted on Saturday morning.
The video shows cars queuing right around the Asda petrol station and continuing all the way along Wigmore Lane to the Crawley Green Road roundabout, and between Eaton Green Road and the roundabout to Vauxhall Way, BedfordshireLive reports.
Fellow Facebook users could not believe what they were seeing. One user said: “OMG this is mental.”
Another replied: “That is ridiculous.”
And a third woman tagged her friend and said: “Get yourself a bike… all you need is leg power!”
The huge queues were caused after nearby petrol stations in Stopsley and Eaton Green Road ran out of fuel on Friday after mass panic-buying.

Government officials are urging the public that there is no need to panic-buy as the UK is not in short supply and those buying fuel when they don’t need to are escalating the problem.
