The device was discovered in a car park at Manfred-Fuchs-Platz in Bremen today with police cordoning off a large area around the site. Bremen police has confirmed a “suspicious object” was found on the premises of an aerospace company at midday leadintg to a “large-scale” operation
Police ordered a widespread closure of the area and looked for other suspicious objects.
Federal police officers and Kripo experts examined the crime scene with the device seized for further investigation.
A letter of confession claiming responsibility which was published on the Internet is being checked by the state security of the Bremen police.
The location is home to multinational tech corporation OHB SE which develops and builds satellites for science and communications. It hails itself as the largest supplier to the Ariane 5 space launcher.
In October, The Jerusalem Post reported that Israeli based firm Helios had signed a deal for its oxyen and metal-producing technologies to be included in three lunar missons by OHB SE.
OHB SE has a base in Manfred-Fuchs-Platz which is a stone’s throw from Bremen University.
