Teenager dies after walking into hospital with multiple stab wounds

A man, 18, has died after walking into hospital seriously injured from a stabbing.

He is believed to be the victim of a fight in Southwark, south London, early this morning.

Police were called at around the same time to a fight, but when they responded could not find a victim.

The man who self-presented in hospital is believed to have been injured at around 4.51am.

He was treated in hospital, but could not be saved and was pronounced dead at 7.23am.

Police are making enquiries to notify his next of kin.

They said three men aged 22, 18 and 22 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They were taken to separate custody facilities where they remain.

Officers from Southwark are still on scene.

An investigation has opened up by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Neil John.

He said: ‘A number of arrests have been made but we urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us immediately to tell us what they know.

‘An 18-year-old has lost his life in violent circumstances and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened.’

It comes amid a spate of violence over the weekend, where three other people were killed in the capital.

Pregnant woman Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, 26, was stabbed to death but her baby was saved by emergency services called to Raymead Avenue in Thornton Heath, Croydon, at around 3.30am on Saturday.

On Saturday night, a man in his late 20s was stabbed to death at the junction of Ron Leighton Way and Wakefield Street in Newham, east London, at 11.07pm.

A man, 54, also died after a fight in Brixton.
