Teenager charged with murder after stabbing in Kent last year
A British teenager who was arrested in France has been charged with the murder of a man in Kent last year.
The 17-year-old from Barking, east London, was held in the town of Coquelles in northern France in the early hours of Saturday.
His arrest came after a 35-year-old man was stabbed to death in Fox Street, Gillingham, on the afternoon of Friday 20 December.
Kent Police said a woman in her 40s, who was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released from custody pending further inquiries.
The teenage suspect, who cannot be named, is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Detectives investigating the killing are still trying to establish the whereabouts of a large knife.
