Teenager charged after hit-and-run death of London motorcyclist

A teenager has appeared in court charged with several offences including causing death by dangerous driving after a hit-and-run accident in which a man was killed earlier this month. Abdirahman Ahmed, 19, of Lilford Road, SE5, appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates Court today, in relation to a fatal collision in Lambeth.

A man will appear in court charged with driving offences following a fatal collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Lambeth on May 11.

Ahmed is charged with causing death by dangerous driving; causing death while driving uninsured; causing death while driving unlicensed; failing to stop at the scene of an accident; driving without insurance; and driving not in accordance with a licence.

He was arrested by officers on Thursday.

The rider of the motorcycle, Brazilian national Ronaldo Medeiros De Oliveira, 44, died at the scene, after sustaining serious injuries in the collision.

Speaking after the tragedy, daughter Gabriele Oliveira told the South London Press: “He was hard worker.

“Always done everything for me and my mum.

“He left Brazil to offer me a better life and give me a better future.

“He was an amazing dad and husband. Loved by many of his friends.”
