Teenager arrested after 'breaking coronavirus lockdown for sixth time'

A teenager has been arrested after allegedly flouting lockdown rules for the sixth time.

Welsh officers said the 18-year-old was the first person in the Dyfed-Powys Police force area to be arrested for causing a public nuisance regarding the government’s strict coronavirus measures.

Dyfed-Powys Police said he was flouting the rules by driving around with ‘total disregard’ for the health and wellbeing of his community.

The teenager was first issued with a fixed penalty notice (FPN) after being stopped in his car in the village of Llwynhendy, Llanelli, more than two weeks ago.

He is now being held in police custody after his sixth breach.

Roads Policing Inspector Andrew Williams said: ‘The male has previously been served with five FPNs for breaching restrictions.
