Take the UK driving test quiz to see if you can still really pass your test

The latest data tell us that around half of those who take the UK driving test fail on their first time.

Some 50,000 driving tests are taken every year by learners who have already failed at least five times.

Well, as the old adage goes, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try again.

But it’s no cheap affair, with practical driving tests costing learners between 62 and £75 the total bill, with the total bill considerably steep for those who have to take yet more lessons.

Do not despair: Express.co.uk is here to help you on your way and get that little bit of revision in, for both learners and those who can drive and want a refresher, with our latest quiz.

The most up-to-date survey by Be Wiser Insurance found that at least half of drivers would fail a so-called driving “re-test”.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t actually need to retake your test, although some who’ve been out of practice for a while often opt to do crash courses or a refresher lesson.

When you hit the age of 70 your driving licence expires, but you simply have to renew it with the DVLA — there’s no test required.

Yet, the rules are regularly changing, with changes to speeds in certain settings and a new Highway Code.
