The pair worked together on the hit legal drama for seven seasons, with Gina playing law firm partner Jessica Pearson and Meghan playing paralegal Rachel Zane. Meghan left the show to marry into the Royal Family, while Gina went on to star in her own spin-off show called Pearson. Meghan invited the main cast to her wedding to Harry in May 2018 and Gina stunned in a red and white floral dress and cream hat.
However, Gina later revealed there was a restrictive dress code with many rules to stick to and she was worried because her dress broke some of them.
She also said guests had to give up their phones and only got them back after the ceremony.
In an interview for Variety, she revealed she bought the frock off the internet, thinking that she would not get any camera time at all, given that hundreds of the world’s dignitaries and A-list celebrities would be in attendance.
This turned out to be incorrect, as her outfit garnered much attention and featured in several best-dressed lists.
She recalled how she and other women who were going discussed their clothes ahead of time, worried that their outfits would break protocol.
She said in January: “A lot of the ladies and I were on a thread and there was this concern because of protocol and what’s acceptable ‒ none of this, none of that.
“I remember thinking, ‘Well, my dress is some of that, and some of that, and some of that. We’ll see what happens, but no one’s going to be looking at us because we’re the ugly Americans.’
“But it was quite something. We had to give our phones, but when we all got back on our bus to be taken back to the hotel we were give our phones back and the bus had moved out of the dead zone, you could hear all the cell phones ringing in the bucket, this cacophony of pings and all of these websites and people sending me pictures of me on 10 best dressed lists.
“Everyone is always asking about a Suits reunion and then trying to figure out if there was one if Meghan would do it, too.”
While Gina and Meghan got on while they worked on Suits together, they are no longer in contact.
Gina insisted there was no falling out at all, but she has worked with hundreds of people in her career and one can never keep in touch with everyone.
She said she and Meghan were on “different trajectories” in their lives and careers even before she met her prince.

She told Glamour in 2019: “No, I’m not in touch with Meghan. There’s no story in why I’m not in touch with Meghan.
“What I will say is ‒ if I could offer a window into what it is to be an actor and live this crazy life ‒ when you’re an actor, you meet hundreds of people during your career.
“The public only sees the characters that are on TV, but there are hundreds of people that make a show happen.
“If you’re fortunate enough of an actor as I am, that has had a varied career, you can’t bring all those people with you.”

Gina is also known for playing the role of Zoe Washburne in the science fiction series Firefly and its feature film Serenity in the early 2000s.
She has also appeared in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, as well as supporting roles in numerous TV shows including Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Hannibal, Westworld, The Shield and Xena: Warrior Princess.
Gina said she enjoyed working with Meghan and they had a “great time” on the show, but no longer speak.
Gina was not the only one to be taken aback by the sheer amount of protocol associated with a royal wedding.
Carey Mulligan and her husband Marcus Mumford were both invited to the ceremony and arrived very early, so were waiting around for hours.
The actress also revealed on The Graham Norton Show that they heard a bizarre rumour that there would not be any toilets.
As a result, Carey did not drink anything that day and got rather dehydrated.
It turned out, however, that there were bathroom facilities available.
She said: “There are all these rumours about what there would and wouldn’t be and I didn’t know, so I played it very safe.
When asked whether she and the other guests were put “on lockdown” once they arrived, Carey said: “Yes, kind of.”
