The kindness of strangers never fails to amaze – and one man brightened up a woman’s day by paying for her meal.

TikToker Neenib Youkana filmed the kind gesture and posted it to the social media platform where viewers say they were moved by his generosity toward the woman who “looked sad” and was eating alone.

But not everyone felt what he did was a good idea – highlighting that solo eating at a restaurant does not mean you’re unhappy.

Neenib, who has 1.8million followers, said on the clip: “I saw this girl who looked sad eating alone so we did this.”

On the footage – which has been seen almost 10million times – Neenib spots the lady and then walks into the restaurant to talk to one of the waiting staff.

He said: “Sorry so I see that a lady down there sitting alone eating.

“I was wondering if I can pay for her.”

The female waiter says he can – and then lets the lady know about the act of kindness by approaching her at the end of her meal to say Neenib has picked up the bill.

She said: So actually a random stranger paid for your meal today. He just wants to spread some kindness and some love out to people.

“And just to let you know I have one more surprise for you before you leave.”

The woman, who is then presented with flowers and another gift in a box, says she wishes she could thank him, before unbeknownst to her, passing Neenib on her way out.

It’s not clear what location the moment unfolds.

Many fellow TikTok users expressed how moved they were by his actions – but others were less impressed.

One said: “Someone did this for me and my husband. Newly married. I’ve never forgotten about it.”

“Beautiful,” said another user.

“Bless you and your kindness and spread some love and cheer to make someone’s day,” someone added.

However, others questioned whether it is necessary as they often eat alone – and don’t feel sad.

One said: “I enjoy eating by myself.

“If someone buys my meal because I looked ‘sad and alone’ I’d be mad.”

“This is nice but why do we assume if someone is eating alone they are sad?” said another.
