Macmillan Cancer Support is facing a £20million funding fall for the second year running due to the pandemic.

The charity said almost 200,000 people could miss out on care from its nurses if it cannot recover.

The celebrities have been photographed enjoying a cuppa as they called on the nation to take part in Macmillan’s flagship coffee morning fundraisers.

Other supporters include actor Larry Lamb and broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire.

The charity’s chief executive Thomas said: “Macmillan is working tirelessly to do whatever it takes for people with cancer, many of whom are coping with the disruption caused by Covid-19.

“It’s worrying to see coffee morning registrations are even lower than last year during Covid restrictions.

“We want to assure everyone there are many safe and fun ways to get involved.

“Every penny raised will help fund vital support for people living with cancer.”
