Grenadier Guards veteran Julian Perreira outwardly called for Prince Andrew, 61, to step down as the regiment’s colonel. Pressure has been piled on the Prince following the conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, 60, for child sex trafficking, after she was found to have groomed victims for her then partner and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, 66.
Virginia Guiffre, 38, also alleges Andrew sexually abused her on three occasions when she was 17 in a separate civil case.
The Duke of York has denied the allegations.
Andrew, who served as Sub Lieutenant in the Royal Navy and fought in the Falklands War, took on the role of colonel from his late father Prince Philip in 2017.
Andrew holds a total of nine military titles.

Only the Queen, 95, can strip her son of these titles.
But Mr Perreira, who served three tours in Afghanistan, warned the Duke of York’s continued association with one of the UK’s five foot guard regiments would put a “stain” on its history.
The ex-lance sergeant said: “Being allowed to retain his role as colonel of the Grenadier Guards and other military titles, Prince Andrew will put a stain on the regiment’s proud history and will devalue the hard work of past and future generations of Grenadiers.
“He must step down immediately.”
The Times also reports some officers have appeared uncomfortable at being asked to drink to the health of the Duke at the end of their regimental dinners.
Colonel Richard Kemp, 62, suggested he believed Her Majesty would put her duty to the British military before the Royal Family if problems with the Prince continue.
He said: “If she decides it would be right for Andrew to forfeit his military titles she will do so, putting her duty to the forces above any family considerations or personal views.”
The Sunday Times also claimed back in August the monarch wanted Andrew to remain a colonel.

The report was released after the Prince took a step back from public duties.
There is little prospect Andrew will return to perform public duties in the future, reports have suggested.
A senior military source said at the time: “The Queen has let it be known to the regiment that she wants the Duke of York to remain as colonel and the feeling is that nobody wants to do anything that could cause upset to the colonel-in-chief.”
