Spotify, Instagram, Youtube and WhatsApp down for thousands of users

Thousands of Spotify, Facebook, Youtube, WhatsApp and Discord users are reporting problems accessing their accounts.

Downdetector, a website which tracks reports or outages online, showed a spike in issues with a number of popular platforms.

The monitoring site showed it started receiving reports of an issue at around 6pm.

Music fans have reported being signed out of Spotify and being unable to sign back in.

Some have also said it appears that their account ‘never existed’ and ‘cannot be found’.

The area most affected by the outage appears to be London.

On Twitter, the music and podcast streaming service has acknowledged ‘something’s not quite right’ and thanked users for their reports of an issue.

Discord has said it is ‘aware of an issue causing message failures’ and is ‘working on a fix’.

The platform has apologised to users and advised everyone it’s ‘time to go outside’ while it repairs the problem.

Users also reported problems with Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and TikTok.
