Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 55, is married to the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward, 56, and the couple live at Bagshot Park in Surrey. They have been based there with their two children Lady Louise Windsor, 16, and James Viscount Severn, 12, and have been lending a hand at community projects during the crisis.
From maintaining her charity links via Zoom to helping prepare meals and put together food packages for vulnerable people, Sophie’s tireless efforts have been regularly endorsed by the Royal Family Twitter account.
While Sophie and Edward don’t have a Twitter profile of their own their royal work is often promoted by the Queen’s official Royal Family account.
Earlier this week the Queen gave Sophie a royal nod of approval with a tweet about how she and Prince Edward had helped prepare meals for NHS staff.
The post was a retweet from London Irish rugby Club which read: “The #PoweringTheNHS initiative welcomed HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, to Hazelwood as they supported with preparation & delivery of meals to NHS Hospitals.”

The tweeted included three new photos of Sophie and Edward wearing face masks and gloves as they helped prepare food.
Sophie and Edward have also been volunteering at Woking’s Shah Jahan Mosque where they have helped prepare care packages too.
The Countess recently honoured one of her co-volunteers Ali by submitting a photo portrait of him to Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s lockdown photo project – Hold Still.
Kate’s project aims to encourage Britons to share images from these unprecedented times in the hope they will capture “the spirit of the nation.”
In her tribute to Ali, Sophie wrote: “Ali volunteers at the mosque every day from 7am – 5pm, keeping up with his day job from home in the evenings.
“Ali’s smile captures the enthusiasm for helping others that is so evident amongst the volunteers at the mosque.”
Sophie has been dubbed the “Royal Family’s secret weapon” for the way she conducts royal duty without a fuss.
The Countess joined the Royal Family when she married Prince Edward in 1999 and has risen to become a much-valued member of the Firm.

According to royal insiders, she is a favourite of the Queen’s – Edward is the only one of the Queen’s children not to have divorced.
Earlier this year the Countess made an unprecedented royal visit to South Sudan – one of the world’s most dangerous countries.
Sophie was there to promote her work against sexual violence in conflict and was shadowed by Times journalist Christina Lamb.
Speaking about her work against gender-based violence, Sophie told the Sunday Times Magazine: “I heard stories where you feel I can’t believe I’m hearing this.”
She added: “If I can prod the consciences of those who may be able to do more to try and prevent it, and can help get justice for survivors, I will do everything I can.”
Later on in the interview, she added: “You read your brief, but don’t really know what to expect, then get there and, oh my God, this is just a drop in the ocean, what can I do?
“At my most depressed times I think what’s the point, but then, like today, they ask, ‘Please can we have more torches.’
“Even if I made the tiniest difference … if we can get them torches, encourage the men, then it was worth going.”
