It comes as Buckingham Palace announced the Queen has been place under medical supervision at Balmoral, her Scottish residence. A statement said: “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.”
The 96-year-old pulled out of a virtual Privy Council yesterday, a day after appointing Liz Truss as PM at her home where she is currently residing.
The Palace spokesperson continued: “The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
The Royal Family are currently heading to the estate in the Scottish Highlands to be with the Queen.
Among the names, Prince Edward, the youngest son of the Queen, and wife Sophie are on their way.
Prince Andrew and Prince Charles are also on their way, with Princess Anne already being by her side.
Security guards were seen standing outside Balmoral Castle this afternoon.
It has also just been announced that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have cancelled their plans to head to Balmoral following the announcement.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were meant to attend the WellChild Awards – which celebrates the inspirational qualities of the country’s seriously ill children and those who go that extra mile to make a difference in their lives.
A spokesperson for the couple said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland.”
Well-wishers have expressed their concern for Her Majesty as her family flock to be with her.
Liz Truss, who met with the Queen earlier this week, wrote on Twitter: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”
Kate Middleton has remained in Windsor as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on their first full day at their new school, Kensington Palace said.

A plane has arrived at Aberdeen Airport that is thought to be carrying a member of the royal family.
So far, all of the Queen’s children are on their way to Balmoral, while Prince Harry and Prince William also make their way to be with their family.
Politicians have expressed their concern for the Queen.
