Concern is growing for a girl missing since Thursday, with celebrities including Sophie Ellis-Bextor joining calls to find her.

Clementine Reardon, 14, has not returned to her home in Twickenham, London, for four days and police say her disappearance is ‘very much out of character’.

They appealed for anyone who sees her to call 999 immediately, with her family ‘desperately worried’ to know she is safe.

The singer and family friend Sophie Ellis-Bextor tweeted: ‘This is a friend’s daughter so please let the police know if you see Clementine. Likely to be round Twickenham area.’

Georgia Tennant, who is an actor and David Tennant’s wife, also appealed, tweeting: ‘Ok team I need your help. My dear friend’s daughter is missing. Her name is Clementine, born 2007 and is missing from her home in #Twickenham.’

She added that ‘contrary to rumours, #Clementine has NOT been found. Please keep posting and sharing to anyone you know.’

The Metropolitan Police said that detectives had been following a ‘number of enquiries’ and had thought she might be with friends, potentially in the Acton area.

‘However at this time there has been no trace of her,’ they said in a statement.

‘Though there is no information at this time to suggest she has come to harm, her disappearance is very much out of character and concern for her welfare is growing.

‘A number of appeals for information have been issued by Clementine’s desperately worried family and by police on social media, but as yet her whereabouts remains unknown.

‘It is unknown where she might have gone or whether she may have travelled outside of London.’

Clementine is thought to have been wearing a white t-shirt with blue Nike tracksuit bottoms the last time she was seen, however may have changed clothes since then.

Her family have urged her to contact them and let them know she is safe.

Police said that anyone with information should contact them.
