Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, stunned royal fans when she stood out from the rest of the family in a recent virtual engagement. To celebrate International Nurses Day, the entire Royal Family joined a Zoom call, speaking to nurses from around the world. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the heartwarming video and the great role played by Sophie in it.

Ms Fiorito told listeners: “The Countess of Wessex has really come into her own spotlight during this quarantine.

“I love Sophie, I want more of her.

“She was on almost every Zoom call with Kate during this International Nurses Day tribute they did.

“First of all, she’s so comfortable with speaking to people.”

Ms Bowie added: “In one section, she asks if the sunflowers are blooming there yet.

“She’s such a world traveller and she’s really shone in the spotlight that she’s been given.

“I think that they’re noticing that and including her more in these big Royal Family updates.

“Kate and Sophie have a really good banter together and I like them tag-teaming things like this.”

On one call, a nurse mentions that his ex-wife is a teacher, which is helping massively with home schooling in the lockdown.

Sophie jokes that he should “be careful” because his former spouse was “about to be recruited”.

Kate laughed, saying that she’d like his ex-wife to “come and help” her tutor her own children.
