Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, provided a custom wreath for the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral service at Windsor Castle. It was accompanied with a handwritte card by the Duchess of Sussex who was unable to attend due to her pregnancy. Royal commentator Richard Eden has said the manufacturer of the wreath, Willow Crossley, was included in a press release for the flowers.
Speaking to Palace Confidential on MailPlus, commentator Sarah Vine said: “She sent a wreath which was a nice thing to do.
“But even then it was all about her. Oh, I’ve chosen these special flowers and there was a press release.
“It’s not about you! You send a wreath and that’s it. Don’t tell the world how brilliantly you’ve done the wreath.”
Mr Eden added: “Apparently the press release even included the name of the manufacturer.”
Ms Vine continued: “Exactly. It’s not a commercial opportunity, it’s a wreath at a man’s funeral.
“Just send some flowers and shut up.”
The funeral was the first time the duke had met up with his family since Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was broadcast last month, and he was seen chatting with William and Kate after the service.
Kate is “absolutely heartbroken” to see Harry and William fall out.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl praised the Duchess and said she played a “very effective” role in bringing the feuding brothers together.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ms Nicholl said: “It’s always been my understanding that behind the scenes, Kate has tried very hard to act as a peacemaker between William and Harry.
“She loves Harry. He says she’s the sister he never had.

“She’s absolutely heartbroken to see they’ve fallen out and one of the few family members who were actually able to push the brothers together which she did in a very subtle way.
“But it was very effective and then she stepped back and enabled the brothers to walk together up the hill.
“I certainly she played quite an important role in getting the brothers to the point where they were able to engage in a conversation.
“Of course, in front of the world’s press, everyone was watching.”
